Spallinger Nets Hat Trick, Boys Romp Over Woodmore

(BLUFFTON) - Junior Jude Spallinger poured in three goals as seven Pirates scored in a 9-0 blasting of Woodmore to open the Pirates Division III boys soccer tournament run for 2020. Two Spallinger goals started things on the right foot for Bluffton and the lead grew quickly from there. Simon Derstine, Tayton Kleman and Colin Oglesbee added first half goals as BHS led 5-0 at the halftime break.
Jonathan Schriner, Nolan Hoffman and Connor Lee all added second half goals, along with another from Spallinger. Josh Mehaffie, Luke Shepherd (2), Derstine, Spallinger, Oglesbee and Schriner (2) assisted on Pirate goals.
Nic Essinger had a quiet night in goal, making no saves as Woodmore got off just one shot compared to Bluffton's 34.
Bluffton advances to District play to take on Ada.
