Schiner 4 + Basil 3 = Big Pirate Win

By

(VAN WERT) - The Pirate boys soccer team took care of business with a 7-1 win at Lincolnview to wrap up at least a share of the NWC title.  The Pirates have just Paulding, who is winless on the season, remaining on the league slate.

Senior Jonathan Schriner poured in four goals for the Pirates and junior Kaden Basil tallied three of his own in the rout.

Bluffton led 3-0 at halftime and pushed it 6-0 twenty minutes into the second half.  After the Lancers (2-7-4) scored on a Pirate own goal, Basil added his final knock with less than a minute to go.  Jude Spallinger, Thad Mittendorf and Simon Derstine were credited with two assists for the generous Pirates.

Bluffton has yet to lose a conference game since league play began six years ago and have won the NWC crown all five previous years with a sixth one looking in the bag as well.
