Pirates Knock off Another Division 1 Foe

By

(ASHLAND) - The Pirate boys soccer team pushed themselves to the limit with their schedule so far this season and the results have been remarkable.  Playing for the fourth time in nine days, the Pirates made the two hour drive on a Saturday morning to take on Division 1 Ashland.  Before half, BHS owned a 3-0 lead and cruised to a 3-1 victory to improve to 7-0-1 on the season.

Thad Mittendorf finished a cross in the game's second minute and get Bluffton off to a strong start.  Kaden Basil added a goal at the 24' mark and Jude Spallinger tacked on a third tally with seven minutes remaining in the half.  Ashland's goal came off a rebound at the 67' mark.  The Pirates continued to employ their trademark team ball control style as they passed freely throughout the game.  BHS owned a 9-2 edge in shots on goal, displaying the dominance asserted throughout.
