Garmatter, Rhodes Score in Win

(BLUFFTON) - Seniors Laykin Garmatter and Lauren Rhodes scored in a 2-1 girls soccer victory over Riverdale.  The win kept Bluffton unbeaten (3-0-1) over their last four matches.  The Pirates are now 3-2-1 on the season.

Rhodes crossed to Garmatter for the game's first goal 17 minutes into the game.  Laykin finished the cross but the celebration was short lived.  The Falcons kicked off with a central pass and Lexi Miller beat one defender and scored to equalize just seconds after falling behind.  The game remained tied until Clara Matthews fed Rhodes for the game winner in the 69th minute.

The two teams were evenly matched through the game.  Bluffton held a slim 12-11 advantage in shots wiith Pirate keeper Julia Mehaffie grabbing 5 saves.
