Lady Pirates Keep NWC Hopes Alive

(BLUFFTON) - And then there was one.  The Bluffton girls basketball team defeated Allen East by a 53-42 count Monday night to maintain their spot atop the Northwest Conference leaderboard, tied with Spencerville and Columbus Grove with identical 6-1 conference records.  

Alivia Koenig exploded for 14 first quarter points including four 3s.  The senior set the pace for a 20-10 lead heading into the second quarter.  Bluffton expanded the lead to 32-19 at the half on hoops from Kayla White, Ashley Eachus, Averey Rumer and Libby Schaadt.  

Libby Schaadt scored six points in the third quarter as Bluffton pulled away and then held their double digit lead.

The Pirates have one final Northwest Conference league game at Delphos Jefferson on Thursday February 14.  The Wildcats are 2-5 in leage play and 7-13 overall.
