Pirates Dismantle Riverdale

By

(BLUFFTON) - An 11-0 explosion out of the gate led to a 37-14 halftime lead and ended in a 55-38 triumph over Riverdale Saturday evening.  Both teams entered the contest with 12-6 records but Bluffton showed their merit out of the gate with a white hot start.

Bluffton bolted out to the 11-0 lead on a Luke Denecker layup followed by three straight three pointers from Mason Soper, Jared Piercefield and Denecker.  BHS led 21-6 after one quarter getting 9 each from Piercefield and Denecker. Piercefield continued his torrid stretch in the second quarter, ending the half with 14 points.  His final bucket gave the Pirates their 37-14 halftime lead. Soper owned the paint, blocking four Falcon shots in the first half alone.

Bluffton extended the lead out to 46-19 when Soper connected on a three pointer with 2:16 left in the third quarter.  The Pirates took a 48-24 lead into the fourth and were able to provide plenty of rest for the starters down the stretch.
