(BLUFFTON) - The Lady Pirate basketball team destroyed visiting Ada 79-16 Thursday night to open the Northwest Conference season.  The Pirates moved to 3-1 with the win and stand 1-0 in Northwest Conference play.

Keys to the Game

- Bluffton led 24-2 after the first eight minutes and the contest was never in doubt. 

- Sophomore Laykin Garmatter scored a career high 21 points in the win including three 3s.  Libby Schaadt added 16 points. All varsity Pirates scored in the rout!

- Bluffton led 44-7 at the halftime break and Garmatter poured in 13 third quarter points as Bluffton continued to pull away for the victory.

What's Next

The Lady Pirates will take to the road for their first away game of the season against Ottoville.  The Big Green lost in the 2018 Division IV State Final to Minster to end last season.  Ottoville defeated Bluffton 69-36 in the most recent matchup of the two squads.
