(BLUFFTON) - Looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, the Pirate boys soccer team was surprised by visiting Ada Tuesday night. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 halftime lead which did not last long.

Jayden Mays equalized for Bluffton in the 60th minute when he headed home a Luke Young cross.  Four minutes later, Jackson Steinmetz followed suit as he put his head on a Jonathan Schriner cross.   At the 72' mark, Asher Antrim used his heel to send home an Isaiah Schwab pass and Bluffton led 3-1.  To truly put the game out of reach, Brandon Good sent a left footed shot to the upper 90 from just inside the box.

The Pirates outshot the Bulldogs 14-10.  Nic Essinger made 3 saves as he started for injured keeper Dakota Clymer.

Bluffton improved to 7-1-3 on the season and 4-0 in league play.

Bluffton honored former head coach Bill Gaines as several alumni donated towards a memorial tree, engraved stone and a banner listing past conference titles as well as OHSAA tournament accomplishments.
