(BLUFFTON) - The Pirate boys soccer team is making headway in their season.  After tying two Western Buckeye League opponents to start the year, Bluffton outscored their next two opponents by a 17-1 margin.  Thursday, Bluffton peppered the net in a 10-0 home victory over Paulding. 

Bluffton scored just 50 seconds into the game and led 6-0 at the break.  In the second half, the Pirates were able to score at will but chose not to often entering the penalty area with clear possession but steered back out to keep the ball moving and keep the final score respectable.  The final result had 8 different Pirates scoring. 

Jayden Mays ended the night with a hat trick including a beautiful header off a Luke Young corner and also an upper 90 shot from the top of the box.  Jesse Montel, Asher Antrim, Isaiah Schwab, Jude Spallinger, Jackson Steinmetz, Tayton Kleman and Luke Young all scored as well. Assists were from Colin Oglesby, Montel, Young (2) and Steinmetz (2).  

Pauling had zero shots on goal for Dakoda Clymer and Nic Essinger to stop.  Bluffton had 20. 

BHS is now 2-1-1 on the season (one earlier referenced tie went into a shootout due to a tournament setup and Bluffton lost) 

The Bluffton JV hosted and defeated Findlay's JV-B club by a 1-0 count.
