(BLUFFTON) - The Lady Pirate volleyball team won the opening game against Riverdale but the visiting Falcons won the final three games to defeat BHS.  Bluffton is now 1-1 on the season.

The Pirates cruised to a 25-21 win in the opener but couldn't long scoring runs in the second and third games.  In the second, Riverdale led 17-16 and 18-17 but the Pirates couldn't tie it up.  RHS scored the next six points off the serve of Bry Vanden Bosch and won the game 25-18.

Tied at 7-7 in the third, Riverdale quickly distanced themselves out to a 19-8 advantage as the Pirates could not corral serves.  The Falcons took the third game 25-19.  The fourth game was again tightly contested tied at 10-10 and 12-12 and the Falcons went on to win 25-22.

Freshman Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirates with 8 kills and Taylor Schwab added 6. Ameri Siferd had 14 assists, Skyler Scoles 10.  Katie Prater came up with 16 digs, Schwab 14 and Kylie Monday 13.  Siferd & Scoles both had 2 aces.  Libby Schaadt made four blocks at the net and made several hustle plays.
