Tennis Ends Season on High Note

(BLUFFTON) - The boys tennis team celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of Lima Senior and some smore’s.  Attendees of the matches were treated to a show and a snack to celebrate the season’s end.  

Justin Haggard didn’t drop a single game in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Phillip Korikian in first singles. Drew Wilson also threw a ‘shutout’ in a straigt set win over Ryan Utendorf.  Christian Groman cruised at second singles 6-1, 6-1 over Jeremiah Due. Mack Burner & Jordan Siefer kept the Pirates rolling with a 7-6,6-4 win at first doubles and Grant Klinger & Kory Strahm completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-1 win.  

Overall, the Pirates didn’t drop a set in any match. 

The Pirates will now prepare for the OHSAA Sectional tournament beginning Thursday in Lima. The top four players in both singles and doubles will advance to the District Tournament.
