(BLUFFTON) - Libby Schaadt pitched a five hitter and hit a two run homer as Bluffton won their eighth straight softball contest Thursday night at home.  BHS improved to 14-4 overall and 5-3 in NWC play with the win.

After surrendering an unearned run in the first inning, Schaadt settled in over the next six frames. The sophomore struck out 12 and walked none.

Jefferson took a 1-0 lead after half an inning and led until the bottom of the third when BHS tied the game at 1.  The Pirates took a 2-1 lead in the fourth and then Schaadt powered a home run as Bluffton scored three more to take a 5-1 lead after five.  The Pirates pushed across four more runs in the sixth for the win.

Madison Fleece had a nice night going 2/2 with two runs batted in.  Averey Rumer was 1/4 with 2 RBI and catcher Katie Prater hit a double and scored twice.
