2 Home Runs, 2 Big Wins


(BLUFFTON) - On a cold Saturday morning, Bluffton softball put on the long sleeves and scored runs.  The Lady Pirates improved to 11-4 with a doubleheader sweep of Arcadia and scored 27 runs along the way.  

Game 1 : 13-3 Bluffton Victory

Averey Rumer led the way with a 4/4 batting effort and two runs scored.   Katie Prater and Kayla White each had two hits and two RBI as well.  Brinkley Garmatter, Mara Minnig and Bekah Hoff each had a hit.  Minnig & Hoff drove in two runs each.  Libby Schaadt improved to 10-4 as a starting pitcher with the win. The sophomore went six innings and allowed six hits while striking out ten batters.

Game 2 : 14-4 Bluffton Victory

Similar to game one, Bluffton jumped on the visiting Redskins early and built a 9-0 lead after two innings on their way to a ten run victory.  Senior Aimee Ritter picked up her first win of the year as starting pitcher, going all five innings.  Ritter allowed 7 hits and struck out one batter.  

Katie Prater was 3/3 in the second game with a Grand Slam in the third inning.  The junior catcher also blasted a double, drove in five runs and scored four times.  Libby Schaadt displayed her power as well, hitting a three run bomb in the second inning.  Averey Rumer had two hits, two stolen bases and two runs.
