2018 Pirate Softball Preview

By

The Bluffton softball team is ready to take on the 2018 season and improve on their mark of 12-8 last year.  The Pirates will look to replicate their 2017 start as they won their first 4 games and were 6-1 a few games into the season.

Just one senior dots the Pirate roster in Aimee Ritter.  Usually youth would be a cause for concern however the Pirates have plenty of returning underclassmen firepower.

Junior Averey Rumer was a First Team Northwest Conference selection last season.  Classmate Katie Prater was a second team NWC choice at catcher.  Libby Schaadt was Honorable Mention NWC as a freshman pitcher last season.  Additional returning letterwinners include Mara Minnig, Brinkley Garmatter and Ritter.

Tony Rumer enters his sixth season at the helm of the program.  Assisting Rumer are Darryl Willis and Adam Burris.
