(BLUFFTON) - Unbeaten Ottawa-Glandorf came calling Saturday evening, known for their full court pressure defense and inside game however the Titans displayed another aspect of their arsenal in a 73-45 victory.  OG buried twelve three pointers in the victory, six coming from bench players.

Ottawa-Glandorf built an 18-9 lead after one quarter on the strength of three long balls. BHS was able to handle the Titan press early on and even got a few layups in the first half on long passes over the top.  With Bluffton understandably concerned with 6’6” Jake Dible and 6’5” Jay Kaufman inside the paint, the three point line was available for OG and they took advantage. In the second quarter, OG starting shooting guard Bryce Schroeder canned three long range shots and reserve Chad Duling added another to propel a 38-19 halftime lead.

Bluffton was fueled by Kaleb Jefferson and Mason Soper who each scored 15 points.  Jefferson routinely beat his man to the basket on his way to eight first half points.  Soper added five in the first half including one ‘3’ and continually got to the rim  The OG press started to take it’s toll in the second quarter as Bluffton had seven giveaways.  In addition to the press and three point barrage, Kaufman started to get rolling inside.  The senior standout scored six points in the second quarter, all in the paint.

Jefferson, Soper and Jared Piercefield combined to score all 16 Pirate points in the third quarter to keep the deficit as close as possible.  Trailing by 22 at one point, BHS cut the lead to 15 when Piercefield connected on a three pointer with 3:21 left in the third quarter.  OG responded with an 8–0 burst on buckets from Kaufman inside and back to back three pointers from reserve Carter Heringhaus.  The Titans led 56-35 after three quarters and extended from there.

Turnovers spilled the game in OG’s favor.  Bluffton gave the ball away 22 times compared to just 7 for the visitors.  Bluffton shot very well for the game, connecting on 20/33 field goals for a 60% clip.  OG connected on 27/55 (49%) field goals and 12/27 (44%) on three point goals.  The Titans also won the battle of the boards by an 18-15 count. OG collected nine offensive rebounds.
