Four in Double Digits in McComb Win

(MCCOMB) - Friday night Bluffton was stymied by a stellar Crestview squad and put 25 points on the board.  Saturday night, the offense flowed freely as four Pirates scored in double figures and Bluffton earned a hard fought road 61-55 road victory over McComb.  Bluffton improved to 2-2 with the win while McComb fell to 1-3. 

Senior Cole Fruchey paced BHS with 7 first quarter points including Bluffton’s only ‘3’ of the game. Mason Soper did work in the second quarter scoring six points as the Pirates built a 31-24 lead.  

Bluffton out scored McComb 9-5 in a low scoring setting the stage for a fourth quarter shootout.  BHS led 40-29 leading into the fourth quarter. 

McComb put up 26 points in the final stanza as they got white hot from long distance.  The Panthers drained six 3s in the last eight minutes of the game.  For BHS Dakota Bricker and Kaleb Jefferson stepped up in the fourth for Bluffton, each scoring 6 points.  As a team, Bluffton connected on 11/14 free throws in the fourth keeping the lead safe.
