Balanced Lady Pirates Pickup Road Win

(NORTH BALTIMORE) - Three Pirates finished in double figures as Bluffton went up Interstate 75 to defeat North Baltimore 58-48 Saturday afternoon. Averey Rumer finished with a team high 19 points. Alivia Koenig poured in 18 and Libby Schaadt added 11 as the Pirates improved to 6-2 on the season.
For the second straight game, Bluffton came out firing on all cylinders and put up 15 first quarter points. One positive difference Saturday was the Pirates kept up the scoring, adding 17 second quarter points to build a 32-25 halftime lead. Rumer made two first quarter three pointers and added another in the second frame on her way to 11 first half points. Alivia Koenig got rolling in the second quarter as well, dropping in 8 points.
The game took a physical turn in the third quarter but Bluffton persevered outscoring the hosts 9-7 getting hoops from Rumer, another ‘3’ from Koenig and a shot from Laykin Garmatter. Libby Schaadt came up big in the fourth quarter, pouring in 9 of her 11 points. The Pirates did not do themselves any favors from the free throw line, shooting 3/8 in the final stanza but the lead was maintained throughout.
Bluffton’s defense allowed just three Tiger players to score in the game. Kaitlyn Weinandy scored a game high 26 but got little help from the remainder of the roster. Alivia Light added 11 for NB.
