Lady Pirates Pull Away from CR

(BLUFFTON) - A strong second half propelled Bluffton to a 55-26 victory over Cory Rawson in the opening round of the McDonalds Holiday Tournament Friday evening.   

Junior Katie Prater had a dominant third quarter scoring 10 of her game high 15 points helping Bluffton pull away.  The Pirates led 20-12 after a sluggish first half.    In the third frame, Prater nailed two 3s and a long jumper to go with a layup.  

Junior Alivia Koenig scored 14 with three 3s and sophomore Libby Schaadt provided balance down low with 13 points.  Koenig kept BHS ahead in the first half nailing two 3s.  

Bluffton will take on Arlington in the Championship Game Saturday evening as the Pirates will look to win their first Holiday title since 2007.  Arlington defeated Allen East 47-35 pulling away after leading by just two early in the fourth quarter.   

Hayley Waltz led Cory Rawson with 8 points.

Prater grabbed a team high 8 rebounds. Averey Rumer nabbed 6 boards and handed out 6 assists.
