(FINDLAY) - Bluffton’s boys soccer team faced unbeaten Ottawa Hills in the OHSAA Regional Semifinal Wednesday night.  The Green Bears put up four first half goals including a back breaker with just 15 seconds left in the half.

The Pirates clawed their way back into the match in the second half.  Jesse Montel put Bluffton on the board with 30’ left.  Senior Braden Conrad made the score 4-2 with 22 minutes left.  But the Ottaw Hills defense packed the box the rest of the game and was able to thwart any more Pirate scores to hang on for a 4-2 victory.

Bluffton ends the year in the Regional tournament for the second straight season.  Six seniors played their final game of their Pirate careers:  Zach Basinger, Tristan Smucker, Noah Fredritz, Jordan Siferd, Minh Spallinger and Braden Conrad.  The future remains bright for the program as several underclassmwnt played significant roles and gained valuable experience to bring back next season.
