Ada Passes By Pirates

(ADA) - Ada quarterback Seth Conley passed for 450 yards and 5 touchdowns leading the Bulldogs to a 42-17 win over Bluffton at war Memorial Stadium.   The hosts jumped out to a 20-0 lead before Bluffton could score and never looked back.

Conley repeatedly found favorite targets Chase Sumner and Chase Everhart throughout the evening. Sumner caught 11 passes for 184 yards and Everhart snagged 8 receptions for 149 yards.  Conley threw two scoring passes to Sumney in the first half covering 25 and 67 yards. Everhart ran for a touchdown and caught one as well as the Bulldogs led 28-10 at the half.

Kyle Koontz nailed a second quarter field goal to put Bluffton on the board. Late in the half, Dakota Bricker rolled to his left and threw to Kaleb Jefferson. The senior made two Bulldogs  miss at the ten yard line and then plowed into the end zone carrying two defenders with him.

Sumner added another touchdown in the third quarter to stretch the lead out to 35-17. Jefferson was able to find the end zone from 5 yards out to bring Bluffton within 35-17 but the Ada aerial attack could not be contained. Conley threw one final touchdown pass with 2:58 left to complete the scoring.

Deandre Nassar led the Pirate rushing attack with 83 yards on 8 carries.  Jefferson gained 68 yards on 16 carries.  Bricker completed 5 of 9 passes for 46 yards.

With the loss, Bluffton is now 3-6 on the season and have been eliminated from playoff consideration.  However, the team will face Columbus Grove in the annual rivalry matchup. The Bulldogs picked up just their second win on the year with a 27-21 victory over Allen East on Friday.
