Boys Soccer Ties Celina 5-5

By

(CELINA) - Bluffton's boys soccer team took a five game winning streak into Celina Saturday and for a half, it looked as if the streak would grow to six.  The host Bulldogs were able to recover from a 4-0 halftime deficit and salvage a high scoring 5-5 tie.

Noah Fredritz opened the scoring just five minutes into the game off an assist by Tristan Smucker.  Tayton Kleman added another score, assisted by Fredritz. Luke Young notched the final two goals of the half off assists from Jesse Montel and Smucker.

Celina responded with three goals in the first thirteen minutes of the second half.  Kleman headed in the final Bluffton goal to make the score 5-3.  However, CHS was able to get two late goals to knot up the score when time expired.

Bluffton outshot Celina 9-8.  Dakota Clymer made three saves in goal for the Pirates who are now 5-2-1 on the season.

BHS won the Junior Varsity contest 2-1 on goals from Thad Mittendorf and Brandon Good.
