(BLUFFTON) - Sophomore Kayla White scored the first three goals of the game while Hannah Yost and the Pirate defense pitched a shutout in a 6-0 girls soccer victory over visiting Delphos Jefferson Monday evening.  The Pirates are now 2-1-2 on the year and 2-0 in Northwest Conference play.

White staked Bluffton to a 2-0 first half lead and then opened the second half with her third tally.  Sarah Cartwright made the score 4-0 off of a corner kick from Kelli Leugers.  Freshman Laykin Garmatter added the fifth Pirate goal of the night and senior Kelli Leugers sent a ball across the mouth of the goal that deflected off a Wildcat defender into the goal.

The Pirate defense in front of the goalkeeper Yost did a great job once again. Ashley Augsburger, Kayla Kindle, Leah Conley and Averey Rumer walled off any Jefferson shots.  The Pirate defense has allowed just six goals in the team's first five games.
