(ELIDA) - Three first half goals powered Bluffton's boys soccer team to their first win of the season.  The Pirates defeated Mansfield St. Peter's 3-0 in the consolation game of the Elida Kickoff Tournament.

Tristan Smucker buried a penalty kick at the nine minute mark.  Junior Luke Young found the back of the net just four minutes later to put BHS ahead 2-0.  Freshman Tayton Kleman scored the final goal of the match with 1:35 left in the first half.

The Pirates outshot the Spartans 13-4.  Pirate goalkeeper Dakota Clymer made four saves for the shutout victory. Bluffton is now 1-2 on the year and will travel to Paulding Thursday to open the Northwest Conference season.
