The Bluffton girls soccer team returns 13 letter winners off of last year's squad that won the Northwest Conference and advanced to District play in the OHSAA Tournament with a 13-5-1 record.  According to Coach Jared Byers, these returning players will be looked at to fill some holes on the offensive end.  The defense is in tact from last season save the goalkeeper position.  Returning letterwinners include Abbey Gambrell, Brinkley Garmatter, Kayla Kindle, Leah Conley, Kayla White, Sophia Smucker, Kim Gordon, Kelli Leugers, Sarah Cartwright, Ashley Augsburger, Hannah Yost, Brianna Keeler and Averey Rumer.  Coach mentioned there is a large number of freshman and sophomore athletes who will continue to help build the program this year and in the future.

Head coach Jared Byers enters his third season at the helm of the Pirate ship and owns a career record of 19-16-2.  The Pirates will face a mixture of Northwest Conference foes in addition to a variety of strong non-league opponents including Ottawa-Glandorf, Bath, Riverdale, Van Buren, Upper Sandusky, Kalida, Liberty-Benton and Cory-Rawson.

The ladies open their season at Ottawa-Glandorf on August 23.
