Tennis : Shawnee Sweeps Lady Pirates

(BLUFFTON) - Shawnee's girls tennis team took care of Bluffton 5-0 Wednesday afternoon.  The Lady Pirates put up a good fight in the match.  

1st Singles : Senior Katie Wright fell 6-1, 6-2 to Alotus Wei.  

2nd Singles : Senior Lucie Fett dropped a hard fought match where both sets went to the tie break.  Final score was 7-5, 7-5.

3rd Singles : Sophomore Erin Hotmire took Kunmi Ojo to three sets.  Hotmire dropped an exciting first set 7-4 in the tie break.  Erin won the second set 6-2 before dropping the third set 6-2.  

1st Doubles : Juniors Amelia Mitchell & Raychel Avila fell 6-0, 6-0 to Sanjana Rajaskeram & Katie Clark.

2nd Doubles : Juniors Caity Zimmerman & Emma Klinger narrowly lost a three set marathon. Shawnee's duo of Marley Evans & Kaylyn Frisby won the first set tie break 7-2 after each team won 6 games.  Zimmerman & Klinger easily won the second set 6-1 but the visiting Indians were victorious 6-4 in the third to take the match.
