Grove Ladies Defeat Pirates, Take NWC

By

(BLUFFTON) - Columbus Grove arrived in Bluffton with a lofty stat ranking and left no doubt as to if they deserved it.  The Bulldogs pressed and harrassed the Lady Pirates all evening long on their way to a 50-27 lead.  The loss snapped a quick two game winning streak for BHS, dropping their record to 15-6 and finishing the year 6-2 in NWC play. With the win, Columbus Grove wrapped up the Northwest Conference title at 8-0.

Grove led 16-8 after one quarter and 32-21 at the break.  A 14-5 third quarter advantage pushed the lead out to 46-26 and the high intensity Bulldog defense allowed just one fourth quarter point for the Pirates.

Alivia Koenig scored a team high 13 points for BHS.  Andie Schmutz added 8 and Abbie Parkins and Averey Rumer both scored 3.
