Third Quarter Edge Pushes Ladies over Bearcats

(BLUFFTON) - An 18 point third quarter allowed Bluffton to earn a 51-41 girls basketball victory over Spencerville Thursday night.  BHS improved to 11-4 on the season with the win and 4-1 in conference play.  

Leading just 23-18 at the break, Coach Eric Garmatter instructed his team to go inside on the Bearcats.  Andie Schmutz scored seven third quarter points and Taylor Monday added six more as the lead grew to 41-28 heading into the fourth quarter.  The Pirates survived a fourth quarter three point shooting barrage to hang on for the win.  

Averey Rumer led BHS in scoring with 13 points including three 3s.  Schmutz finished with 12 points and Monday 11.
