Kody Koronich at Findlay Duals

Bluffton High’s wrestling squad kicked off their at the Findlay Duals Saturday with mixed results.  The Pirates came away with a 1-4 record on the day against the much larger schools including Findlay, Fostoria and Olmstead Falls.  Dustin Brinkman went 5-0 on the day and brother Jordan Brinkman went 4-0 in the season opening dual meet.

The Pirates’ lone win of the day came in a 45-30 triumph over Monroe.  In that matchup, both Brinkmans, Jacob Garmatter, Justin Conner and Ben Moser all won via pin.  Kody Koronich won his heavyweight match 3-1.  Findlay narrowly escaped with a 39-32 win over BHS.  Jordan Brinkmand and Kody Koronich both won by pin for the Pirates’ only victories.  In a 45-23 loss to Fostoria, Jordan Brinkman, Moser and Logan Sturgill all won via pin.  Sturgill and Dustin Brinkman were the lone winners against New Haven (IN) and Brinkman was the only winner against Olmstead Falls.

The Pirates will look to get the ship righted as they prepare for the Allen County Invitational coming up Saturday, December 18.
