NWC CHAMPS!

Bluffton baseball did something its never done before. Won a Northwest Conference championship in baseball. Even though the Pirates dropped their final NWC game to Pauldin 5-4, BHS is still assured a share of the title, finishing the league season at 8-1. Paulding will have a chance to grab the other share of the title when they play Allen East on Monday. LCC could also grab a share if they beat the Mustangs on Wednesday. But if the Panthers and T-Birds would lose, Bluffton would stand alone at the top of the conference.
Bluffton trailed 6-2 entering the seventh and got it to 6-5 with two outs. There were two runners on base for Matt Suderman, who popped out to left to end the game. Nevertheless, Bluffton stands at the top of the heap for the first time and a long awaited, albeit impromptu, victory parade down Main Street greeted the Pirates for a post game celebration.
Bluffton will face St. Henry in the sectional baseball tournament Saturday at 2:00 from Lima Senior.
